“We are a #republic, you know.” This is one of the responses I get frequently from conservatives and #federalists interested interested in dismissing my messages. I think they have an odd way of interpreting the Constitution.
#Republic: a #government having a chief of state who is #notamonarch and who in modern times is usually a #president;
a #government in which #supremepower resides in the #Bodyofcitizens entitled to vote (in our nation, that is all citizens-or has been up until now) and laws are exercised by #electedofficers and #representatives responsible to the #wethepeople and #governing #accordingtolaw.”
#Democracy: “a #government in which the #supremepower is vested in the #wethepeople and exercised by them #directly or #indirectly through a system of #representation usually involving periodically-held #freeelections.”
Here is the #preamble to the #constitution of the #unitedstatesofamerica:
“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect #Union (the action or fact of joining or being joined, especially in a political context), establish #Justice (“Just” behavior or treatment for #all), ensure #DomesticTranquility (domestic tranquility generally means peace at home, with regard to the constitution is referred to peace among the states. The #constitution gives power to #FederalGovernment to squash rebellion and to smooth tensions between states. The #framers of the #constitution were #concerned of the inability to suppress rebellion or quarrels amongst the states before the formation of the constitution), provide for the #commondefense (#by approving #internationalagreements and the appointment of #ambassadors, #congress also supports efforts to resolve conflict through diplomacy), #promotegeneralwelfare (#congress is charged by the #constitution with providing for the #generalwelfare of the #wethepeople-all the citizens), and secure the #BlessingsofLiberty (a person who has liberty is free to make choices about what to do or what to say, a primary purpose of #federalgovernment in the #UnitedStates is to protect and promote the liberty of #ALLindividuals) to ourselves and our #Posterity (future generations of people), do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

#wethepeople (230,000,000 whose voices are silenced by a minority on a daily basis) want to know why our elected officials are representing 100,000,000 of the citizens (a minority) of #wethepeople, those who are staging insurrections and violent uprisings and using AR15’s to stage school and public shootings to cause #domesticterrorism and trying to distract us by defining others (#BLM, #ANTIFA) as the terrorists (our federal security agencies define #rightwingdomesticterrorism as the invaders).
#FederalistParty #RepublicanParty and #Conservatives are now busy calling for a #ConstitutionalConvention. This would be to install the #KochNetwork #ScorchedEarthAgenda. No person who believe in our Nation and our Democracy will be for this very #destablizing agenda.
