Life in the small conservative town in which I live

My spouse and I went to the Redlands Board meeting at Citrus Valley today. It was not a protest. We were there to be a quiet presence FOR masking to keep our children safe.

The next day, my spouse got home late from his trip & brought two 80 pound @Amazon boxes in from the driveway. One exhausted, underpaid @amazon driver drop an 80 pound Amazon box from the top of my gate to the ground breaking a container of oat milk.

The ants who live in the ant hill under my house quickly covered the broken box to drink the cool oat milk. It was 100 degrees outside at the time. When my spouse got home after I went to bed, he was also exhausted, brought the two boxes into the kitchen & dropped them on the counter.

This morning when I got up to open the windows and let the cool air in the house, I found a million ants crawling all over my kitchen counter. Now I am sure it was an underpaid, exhausted @amazon worker who packed those two 80 pound boxes and dropped one from 10 feet. This speakers to my life now.

In 2021, following the decimation of my nation by @GOP and the #Judeochristofascists and everyone else around the world who enable #Fascism, when I took the dogs out for their business this morning, I could not help but notice the metal fence and gate that completely surround my house.

I noticed the camera we installed because @RedlandsPolice advised us to install it following being stalked and harassed by #MAGA enablers of @GOP who, now at great risk to our children, have decided to stage anti-masker protests all around the nation as school try to open safely.

One was at my school board meeting this week. This is her picture, refusing to put on a mask at a public event which put everyone in the room at risk. The officers there were coddling her and I said loudly, “get her out of here, she is putting everyone at risk!”

Now, let me say, I don’t go out much anymore because in my little town, I’ve been harassed by these ignorant bullies for the last 15 years after and while trying to found a non-profit devoted to counseling & yoga. They ran me out of business by stalking me & compromising my business to the tune of great expense to my family.

So today’s ants are definitely a #firstworldproblem inside what is quickly becoming a #ThirdWorldCountry.

When I first moved to Redlands, I had retired from a successful career, took a year off to play with my young grandchildren and would never have considered the following:

1: fencing my entire property

2: putting an alarm system on my house

3: putting up a camera system to deter bullies

4: staying home most of the time.

For these and other reasons, I am very vocal about the corruption of @GOP.

Because of that vocal eloquent rage I express sometimes, I am estranged from the remaining members of my family of origin, my daughter & my grandchildren.

Now, let me say I have come to terms with all this by getting to know myself better and practicing #Yoga and #Ayurveda every day. My life has changed in ways I never would have expected 15 years ago.

At least it’s not a concentration camp, yet.
